Every time a new
student joins a Catholic school,
our family grows.

Saint Gerard Society is grassroots, nonprofit organization providing tuition assistance to deserving children who attend Nouvel Catholic Central Schools. Its mission is to ensure that Catholic education is financially within reach for all families. As a 501(c)(3) charity, all donations are fully tax deductible.

“Young people today need Catholic education more than ever. In a world where truth, beauty and goodness are considered all but subjective, the Way, Truth and Life offered us in Jesus Christ are our only source of direction, clarity and hope. Furthermore, being rooted in faith does not endanger the academic quality of Catholic schools, but in fact is their very motivation for excellence in all things.”

— Bishop Michael C. Barber
Chairman of the U. S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Committee on Catholic Education

“There’s nothing greater than forming a child in Christ and for helping a child to learn to be like Jesus both as a child and then as an adult. That’s an incredible, wonderful gift.”

“Catholic education provides the best way to impart faith to the children. We have that gift of sharing our faith with our students at any given moment in the classroom.”

> One hundred percent of every donation goes directly to tuition assistance.

> The Saint Gerard Society maintains all donated funds in an investment account.

> Saint Gerard Society disburses scholarships directly to Nouvel Catholic Schools on behalf of scholarship recipients.

When finances are a barrier to new Nouvel students, the school admissions and finance directors collaboratively secure scholarship funding. Saint Gerard Society Scholarship amounts range from $500 up to half of the tuition cost, based on third-party verification of need.

Students must adhere to the school Code of Conduct, which outlines minimum academic performance and exemplary behavior. Families and students are asked to fully participate in their Catholic education experience and to help others as their own financial situations allow. Please help transform a child’s future by providing an academically rigorous, Christ-centered education.

Who is Saint Gerard Majella?

Saint Gerard is the patron saint of motherhood, children and unborn children. He grew up in poverty and stayed close with the poor throughout his life. The poor and sick often called on him, and whenever they did, he graciously came to “do the Will of  God.” Because of his extraordinary piety and wisdom, and his gift of reading consciences, he was allowed to counsel communities of religious women. He also had abilities associated with certain mystics including levitation, bi-location and the ability to read souls.

Miracles Performed by Saint Gerard Majella

Throughout his lifetime, Saint Gerard performed several reported miracles.

> Restored a boy’s life after he fell from a high cliff

> Blessed a poor farmer’s crops, ridding it of mice

> Blessed a poor family’s supply of wheat, causing it to last until the next harvest

> Multiplied bread for the poor on several occasions

> Gave a woman a handkerchief that is said to have saved her life during childbirth
